                第十周英语学科中心活时候动内容

                活动议程 (一)  观摩高玉老师开设的阅杨万里是个很有气度读示范课

                Step 1  Warming-up

                How do you exercise to stay healthy?

                e.g. running, practicing tai chi

                Step 2 Scanning

                Choose the one which best describes the change in the author’s attitudes.


                 

                Step 3  The teacher has students read the passage again. Then encourages students to find out an adjective to reflect the author’s attitudes in different periods with the help of Graph D and give reasons.

                Step 4 Practice : tell what effects tai chi have on the author 

                1) have a positive effect on me physically and mentally

                2) improved balance and flexibility

                3) do more difficult moves 

                4) sleep better

                5) more energetic

                6) relax my mind and stay cool

                7) bring about a state of physical balance and mental peace.

                8) keep fit/stay healthy

                9) be of great benefit to my health

                Step 5 The teacher has students read Paragraph 4 on Page 26 and find out the essence of tai chi.

                 


                 

                Step 6 Group work

                How do you understand “There is no shadow without light.” Can you make up more such sentences to explain the unity of opposites?

                Sample answers:

                There is no right without wrong.

                There is no fairness without unfairness.

                There is no white without black.

                There is no day without night.

                There is no success without failure.

                Step 7 Group work

                Suppose our school wants to choose 3 sports as optional courses(选修课). You have 2 minutes to persuade the headmaster to include tai chi. Express yourself by using examples, facts or personal experiences.

                 

                Use the checklist to give the speaker helpful feedback.

                  Are the reasons the speaker gives convincing?

                  Does the speaker organize it in a good order?

                  Are examples, facts, personal experiences or culture about tai chi used?

                  Does the speaker use proper language to express reasons and intentions?

                  Are the words pronounced correctly and are there grammar mistakes?
